Emma Garcia and Lily Rodriguez were walking home from school one day when they heard a strange noise coming from the abandoned house down the street.
“Did you hear that?” Emma asked, her curiosity piqued.
Lily nodded, looking a little uneasy. “Yeah, I heard it too. But I don’t think we should investigate. It’s probably nothing.”
But Emma couldn’t resist the urge to find out what was causing the noise. “Come on, let’s just take a quick look.”
They cautiously made their way to the front door of the old house and peered inside. The place was a mess, with debris and garbage strewn everywhere. Suddenly, they heard the noise again, louder this time.
Lily jumped, startled. “We should go, Emma. This is really creepy.”
But Emma was already inside the house, following the sound to the back room. As she turned the corner, she saw a strange object glowing in the corner of the room. She couldn’t resist the urge to investigate and walked over to it, reaching out to touch it.
Suddenly, everything went black.
When Emma woke up, she was lying on the floor, the strange object nowhere in sight. Lily was crouched beside her, looking worried.
“Are you okay?” Lily asked, helping Emma up.
Emma rubbed her head, feeling a little disoriented. “I don’t know what happened. I saw this weird object, and then everything went black.”
Lily looked skeptical. “Maybe we should go home and forget about this. We don’t want to get in trouble.”
But Emma couldn’t shake the feeling that something important had happened. She knew deep down that they needed to find out what that strange object was and what it was doing in that abandoned house.
As they walked away from the house, Emma couldn’t help but feel like they had stumbled upon something much bigger than they ever could have imagined.
