Harper sat at her desk on the first day of the new year, staring at her computer screen. “New year, new me,” she whispered to herself. “Time to start fresh and get motivated!”

As she began to type away at her work, her coworker John walked by her desk. “Happy New Year, Harper!” he exclaimed.

“Happy New Year, John! Did you make any resolutions?”

John chuckled. “No way, I never keep them anyway. Did you?”

Harper nodded. “Yeah, I’m going to start going to the gym more and eating healthier.”

John raised an eyebrow. “Good luck with that. Speaking of resolutions, have you seen Susan?”

Harper looked around the office. “No, why?”

“She said she was going to start being on time this year, but it’s already 9:30 and she’s nowhere to be found.”

Harper laughed. “Well, there’s always next year.”

Throughout the day, Harper made a point to crack jokes and make her coworkers laugh. She even went as far as to wear a silly hat to lighten the mood.

On the second day of the year, Harper woke up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. However, as she made her way to the office, she couldn’t help but notice the traffic was even worse than usual.

When she finally arrived at the office, she was met with chaos. The coffee machine had broken down, Susan was still nowhere to be found, and the copier had jammed.

Harper couldn’t help but laugh. “Looks like the new year is off to a great start!”

As the day wore on, Harper found herself feeling more and more stressed. She had so much work to do and it seemed like everything was going wrong.

But then, as she was sitting at her desk, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. It was a post-it note that read, “You got this!”

Harper smiled. Maybe the new year wasn’t so bad after all.

On the third day of the year, Harper arrived at the office feeling grateful for the positive note and ready to conquer the day. She even brought in donuts to share with her coworkers.

As she walked through the door, Susan rushed up to her. “I’m so sorry I’ve been late the past two days. My alarm clock broke and I couldn’t get a new one until today.”

Harper grinned. “No worries, Susan. We all have our moments.”

The rest of the day went smoothly and Harper felt like she was finally getting into the swing of things. As she packed up to leave for the day, she turned to John.

“Hey, John. You know what they say, new year, same old me.”

John chuckled. “You got that right, Harper.”

As she made her way home, Harper couldn’t help but feel happy. Maybe the new year wasn’t about starting fresh, but about embracing the chaos and finding joy in the little things.
